Getting back in the swing of it.

Hello, I hope this post finds you all well. It's been a busy week as I have worked every day as we have a bit of a project on after a spell on part-time furlough but I am finally getting around to posting a card for this weeks challenge over at Allsorts where the theme is Any Real Animal or Creature.

I thought I would share the swing card I made for my lovely great-nephew last month.
Stamps and dies are all Made to Surprise apart from the birthday sentiment which is from a Penny Black set from 2008 and the number is Julie Hickey Designs.

I have really enjoyed making these swing cards.

Here are a couple more
This one was for a leaving card

I thought having Santa swinging from the chimney might be a nice idea

I did make another one for my great niece but it looks like I forgot to take a picture of that.

Thank you for visiting

Stay well

A Challenge for Kath - Allsorts

There is a Challenge for Kath this week at Allsorts and here is my entry.
The theme is Favourite Stamps with the option of  Paper Pieced Flowers. I don't think that I personally have one favourite stamp but I know that this was one of Kaths so thought that I would use it.

I have used Penny Black 3377K Whispers stamped with Versafine Onyx Black
Papers are Nitwits Bonnets and Bowties
Ribbon and pearls are from my stash

I also thought that I would share a few of the birthday cards which I recieved form Kath over the years, I hope that you enjoy seeing them as much as I always enjoyed receiving them.

Thank you for visiting

Lilac Flower box

Thank you for all your lovely comments and visits recently. I am trying to get better at commenting more promptly, it's the best way I know of showing that I appreciate you.

This card has been sitting in my drafts since May, it was a commission from one of my neighbours for her mum, just sitting here thinking about how much simpler the cards were which I made for my own mum when she was alive, before the age of digital.
The papers are from Stampin' Up - Hydrangea Hill
Dies and stamps are from Papercraft Society Box 15
Alphabet dies are from my stash but I can't remember which ones I used.

I am entering this card in Challenges at

From the archives - LOTV artpad 2014

Hello everyone

So I was looking through my 87 draft posts this morning, otherwise known as all the images I have uploaded to my blog and never got around to writing anything about.

The cards below were uploaded on the 3rd of February 2014 so I thought I would combine all the cards in one post and give them an airing. The photos aren't the best, I may have taken them in the evening but I quite like some of the layouts.

I think that these were all made from images in one artpad and on the whole from the same Always and Forever Nitwits Pad and I dipped into my sketch archive too.

Anyway hope those of you who visit drop in enjoy and there will be another batch of archives [old drafts] soon

Thank you for visiting

SSW2 Sketch 215

Welcome to my blog. I have had a lovely morning catching up with visiting and commenting on blogs in my reading list after a few days feeling a bit iffy.

Here is the second sketch for this month at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

Here is my card

I used Peeking Reindeer from Bugaboo (currently closed) coloured with Polychromos pencils
Papers are First Edition
Embossing folder and ribbon were free with Making Cards magazine a few years ago
Brads from my stash
Hexagon dies are Spellbinders - I was going to put my image straight but it fell onto the mat at a jaunty angle which I liked, I think it suited this image.

I am taking my card to
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas challenge - Anything Goes with an optional theme of something beginning with an S
Allsorts challenge blog - Anything goes with an option of For the Love of your life

Allsorts Challenge for Kath

On the 11th of September the Allsorts Challenge will be in memory of Kath and will celebrate her style of crafting with some special prizes.
I was lucky to know Kath personally, we met at Craftwork Cards workshops about 16 years ago and she was one of the founding members of the craft group which we started in our town. We travelled to the Stamp Magic show in Doncaster and to some of the shows in Harrogate together too and she would tease me about the neglect of my blog.

Happy memories of a lovely lady.
So please do join in if you can.

I made this card shape following a tutorial from Sam Calcott from Mixed Up Craft. I have been enjoying her Facebook lives on my furlough days too

I used Bazzill card for the base

Verse on the reverse is a Honeydoo Crafts sentiment embossed in Wow Platinum

Sketch 213 with SSW2

Here I am with my second card for this months challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

My neighbour asked me to make a new home card for her daughter who was moving out into her own place.

I teamed the sketch with a pre-coloured Lili of The Valley image that came from a sheet. This is one of my favourite new home images and I've almost run out of these so I may have to invest in the digital version.

The papers are Nitwits, from Up, Up & Away and Sunny Side Up and the ribbon is from my stash.

SSSW2 Sketch 212

It's official, I am a rubbish blogger but in my defence Blogger was changing my letters around and making up a new language which wouldn't have been possible for anyone to understand.

Anyway I am here now to dust the cobwebs off my blog - yet again - and start to share my cards for this months challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

I am the sponsor this month and we have a cute bear stamp and some Lili of the Valley Artpad images as a prize as well as a guest DT spot so it's well worth an entry.

Here is my first card for this months challenge

I used a die which I have had for ages and never used - Happy Penguin by Tonic which I paper pieced with card from my scraps basket. The Oval dies are Polkadoodles.
The papers are from The Works and the ribbon and red mirror card is from my stash, I think the ribbon was free with a Making Cards magazine.

So definitely a card for using things I have had for a while and neglected.
Here is Kathies sketch which I followed

I am entering my card in the following challenges
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge - Anything goes Christmas- optional use twine or ribbon
The 12 Months of Christmas  - Optional twist - Warm winter wear

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 DT makes

Well my intentions to post more seem to have failed for now but here I am back with my design team makes for May.

We had a new challenge start on Wednesday at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2, hop over to check out Kathies sketches if you love sketches as much as we do.

We are sponsored by Polkadoodles this month and I used some photopolymer stamps which I had in my stash.

Here are my cards

Card 1 using sketch 206

This one used images from the set Hello Friend along with some old Craftwork Cards papers and purple glitter card from my stash. I have coloured the daisies with pencils which seem to be my go to for colouring at the moment and then embellished with Stickles Twinkle. I might add some more gems to this before I use it for Happy Mail in a Facebook group I belong to.

I am entering this card in the following challenges

Dragonfly Dreams - Add some sparkle
Stamping Sensations - Beautiful Blooms

For my second card [which followed sketch 207]

I have used the stamp set Having a Giraffe and some Jungle Dreams papers which I bought from The Works last year aand are great for animal themed cards. I finished my card off with some twine and a few Card Candi, I don't use those very often but have loads and they seemed to work well for this card.

Thank you for visiting and any comments you are kind enough to leave

Dusting off my Penny Black Stamps

Hello everyone.

So after months of nursing my old laptop along (I have had more blue screens than I ought to have had recently and having to plug it in all the time wasn't really all that conducive to portability) I have finally bitten the bullet and replaced it. Hopefully (and don't hold your breath Kath) this means that I will be blogging a bit more often, well that's the plan anyway and I have certainly made plenty of cards that I can share. So let's get on with it (and thank you for sticking with me so far).

Today I am sharing a card commissioned by my lovely neighbour for her sister, the brief was that she lives on a farm. I immediately thought of one of my favourite Penny Black stamps and this is the resulting card.

Image - Penny Black Ladies Devine coloured with Polychromos Pencils
Sentiment - Julie Hickey Designs
Papers - Nitwits Sunny Side Up
Flower Dies - Joy Crafts
Pearls - Hobby House

I'd like to enter this card at
