It's delicious.

Here's the sketch

The image is from Lili of the Valley and is coloured with Polychromos pencils.
Papers are Archaic by Basic Grey  (an oldie but a goodie) and I have just gone around the edges with a Chestnut Promarker

Parcels in pink

I didn't manage to enter the challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 last week because I managed to fall and hurt my wrist. It's much better now and would probably be back to normal if I hadn't been to work lol!

So anyway here is my card following this weeks sketch. It's a very flat card, means it can be sent standard post so I will probably end up giving it to somebody who I don't post to.

The image is from a Lili  of The Valley Artpad, great when crafting time is short, the paper is also from Lili of the Valley and is from the new Nitwits Butterfly Kisses pad.
Green card is Bazzill, card blank is Craftwork Cards as usual.
The parcels are cut from a sizzix die.

Thank you for visiting

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

First things first, I promised to do a draw from last weeks comments and send something to the person who came out of the draw and that was ..........

If you can send me your address Heide I will send you something from my recent trip to the Lili of the Valley shop soon.

So onto this weeks entry over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

I decided to use a curved die to seperate my 2 papers but I am not sure that it worked,
Anyway onto the details

Papers - Craftwork Cards Al Fresco
Image - Kate Shopping from Digi Stamp Boutique
Sentiment - Dreamees
Flowers punched with EK success daisy punches
Bling - local craft shop - just realised I need to put some bling in the middle of the flower on the image oops!

Finally Happy Thanksgiving to all my visitors from the USA

In the nick of time

Here is my card for this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 challenge. I made the top 3 with my card entry last week, it was lovely to be chosen thank you.

I have used a Lili of the Valley image from the Party and Cake Art pad which I added colour to with my copics.
My papers are from the Refreshers collection from Craftwork Cards, and I made the bow by using on of the sheets from  their bow pads as a template.
The ribbon is from a reel I bought from the Great Northern Papercrafts show when it was still at the Royal Armouries, so my friend Kath will know how long ago that is lol!

When I clicked on to post tonight I noticed that I have had 10000 page views on my blog so I'll do a draw from all my comments for this card and send a little gift to whoevers name comes out of the pot as a thank you for your support for my blog.

More Blush

It's another lovely sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 this week and here's my card using it

This is the sketch

I still had the Basic Grey Blush papers on my desk from the layout I had made so I teamed them up with this lovely topper from one of the Lili of the Valley artpads which I have embellished with Flower Soft..
Flowers and red card are from American Crafts.
Die cut corners are Cheery Lynn and the sentiment is a polka doodles stamp.

Thank you for visiting

For Remembrance Sunday

A simple layout using Basic Grey papers from the blush range, a postcard of the John Mc Crae poem In Flanders Fields and a photo of his grave at Wimereux Communal Cemetery in the Pas-de-Calais.It's an unusual cemetery in that all the gravestones lie flat because of the sandy soil.

Back with a bit of orange

I've been missing in action from blogging for a few weeks, too much work equals too tired for crafting on an evening / can't be bothered to come upstairs to the craft room.

Anyway after a lovely day out yesterday on a tour of Lili of the Valley and then Craftwork Cards (who were open for a sale day with lots of lovely bargains to be had) I came home and after Strictly managed to make this card for this weeks challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.

This is the sketch

And the twist because it is the last challenge of the month is to use some orange.

Supplies are as follows

Image - Elisabeth Bell from The Hobby House
Papers - Potting Shed pad from Craftwork Cards
Cardstock - American Crafts
Leaf Punch and Flowers - Woodware
Ribbon, lace and pearls from stash

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to leave

Three b's

Crafty Cardmakers and more have a 3 B's challenge this time around and as this card I made recently for a good friends 50th birthday hadn't been blogged yet I thought it was a good a reason as any to do so.

The list to choose from is

Butterflies
Blue
Birthday
Banners
Buttons

and I have used butterflies, blue and it's a birthday card so that is my 3.

The card is a tent card (which my late night picture doesn't show) that I was inspired to do following a make and take at Whichcraft a few weeks ago, the lattice aperture is cut with a Spellbinders die and the butterfly and flowers are spellbinders too as is the label. The leaves are sizzix.
Papers are Lili of the Valley and the ribbon and pearl brad have been in my stash for a while.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to leave

Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge

Here's my entry for this weeks challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. It's the end of the month so as well as this sketch

there is a twist of coffee.

Please don't tell anyone but I suspect that the character in this Lili of the Valley Hello Cupcake image may actually have a cup of tea in her hand but I have used coffee and cream coloured papers as well as the pink ones that came from Craftwork Cards some years ago.
I punched the flowers from the same papers and used a small circle punch just to shape them a bit - here's a close up

The pearls are from my stash and the oveal is die cut from American Crafts cardstock using my new just arrived yesterday Spellbinders Floral Ovals. I have been wanting this set for ages and when they came up on Amazon at about £12 they were too good a bargain to resist so this sketch was perfect to have a play with them too.

Hope you like my creation

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to take the time to leave.

More monkeying around

Monkeying around

I didn't get time to play at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 last week so decided I would use this weeks sketch for Martins nephews birthday card.

He lives in Australia so as summer will be on the way there soon I thought I would use the BBQing monkey image from Digi Stamp Boutique which I have had since earlier in the summer but not used yet.

So here is my quite simple card.
As well as the main image the sentiment is from Digi Stamp Boutique, the papers are Lili of the Valley, ric rac came from a shop in Farsley near the Lili of the Valley shop which I can't remember the name of  but is great for all things haberdashery.
The base card and Candi are from Craftwork Cards, I was going to use buttons but thought the candi would be lighter and therefore cheaper for posting.

Thank you for visiting.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Not the best photo but here is the card I made for my step great- nephew who had his 11th birthday earlier in the week.
It's a 7x7 base card and the grey and yellow card I have used for matting is American Crafts, everything else is Roald Dahl from doCrafts. I thought this would make a change for the younger people in the family and may come in for some of the older ones too.

Thank you for visiting and any comments you might like to leave

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - in the potting shed

Last minute again but here is my card for this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge

It's a 5x5 inch card from Craftwork Cards and I've used a topper and papers from their new Potting Shed collection to decorate it.
The green cardstock is American Crafts and the ribbon and lace are from my stash.
The Candi has been glazed with Glossy Accents.
I've drawn faux stitching aroung the topper and paper with a sakura pen as the twist at Sweet Sketch Wednesday is stitching and here is the sketch

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to take the time to leave.

Just because

I have lots of cards which I have never blogged and have been procrastinating about blogging them for a bit so tonight is the night to start.

So this is a card I made a couple of months ago. It's a stepper card which I have decorated with Lili of the Valley papers and a Lili of the Valley image from one of the art pads.
Dies are a combination of Spellbinders and Memory box.
Ribbon is from the jar and all the card is from my stash.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Card for mum-in-law

It's been a grey and wet bank holiday here in  Yorkshire, perfect crafting weather so I have spent a pleasant afternoon (after a 2 week drought on the paper crafting front) making my mother-in-laws card for her 92nd birthday next month.

I've used this sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

another great sketch, I didn't play last week because I was mojo-less.

Here is my card

I have used a Card Creations decoupage sheet Teacup, Flowers and Cake.
The papers are from the Shabby Shack block from Lili of the Valley and I think the roses came from their shop too.
The pink card is American Crafts and the pink circle was cut out  with the smallest Decorative Circles die Grand Nestabilities.
Sentiments are Craftwork Cards and the 4 pieces of ribbon and lace are from the jar.
Base card is 7 x 7 inch from Samuel Taylors

Here is the inside which I decorated to match but swapped the lace for a piece of white satin ribbon

The verse is from a CD rom which I had bought a couple of years ago.

Here is the card again with some of the sweet peas which I cut this morning, I love sweet peas

A new arrival

Yesterday we had a new addition to the family when my new great nephew Sebastian finally arrived, he was a couple of weeks late and is gorgeous.

So a new baby means a new baby card and here is what I made

I have followed the sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday  for my card which is quite plain and simple. I spent forever matching up the papers which are a mixture of Lili of the Valley and Echo Park  because I coloured the image first and then struggled to find a blue paper that matched.
The main image is a stamp I have had for years and is by The Artful Stamper, the grasses are Stamps by Judith, sentiment is Woodware.
The flowers must be about 12 years old I think, ribbon is from the black and white jar.

Thank you for taking the time to visit

Lights out

Here's my entry for this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 challenge which has a twist of polka dots this week.

It's not the best picture as it is pitch black here now.

I have used Lili of the Valley papers and a Card Creations decoupage sheet, I used the extra cricket balls on the sheet for the dots on the bottom right hand corner.
The sentiment is an old one from Craftwork Cards and the twine is American Crafts

Short post as I am doing it by candle light for the Lights Out for the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War.

Having the hump

The title of the Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 post for this week is Sweet sketch Hump Day. I hope I don't have too much of the hump when I go back to work tomorrow after 2 lovely weeks in Italy. I am sure I will miss the almost daily gelato and occasional siesta.

Here's a picture of the lovely Villa Balbianello, used as the private clinic in the James Bond film Casino Royale, no sign of Daniel Craig though.

So this is this weeks sketch

and this is my card

It is for Martins nephew who has a birthday next weekend and I knew I would have it to make when we got back. I have a few male birthdays coming up so I am hoping that the male card inspiration is in better evidence than it was before we went away.

For the main image I have combined a couple of stamps that were free in a magazine once, I did a bit of masking and then coloured with my Copics. The papers are My Minds Eye On the Bright side, twine and black card is American Crafts and the brads have been in my box so long I can't remember where they came from.

Blossoms and birds

It's been a busy few days in our house, added to by the need to go and watch 200 men in lycra whiz past in about 2 minutes as the Tour de France came to Yorkshire,

but it was worth the four hour wait and the 4 mile walk home.

So eventually I have got around to this weeks challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday

This is the sketch

and here is my card

Papers and image are Lili of the Valley
Cherry Blossoms are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Quite clean and simple, I hope you like it.

Thank you for visiting

Sweet sketch Wednesday 2 buttons and bows

I didn't have time to play at Sweet Sketch Wednesday last week, not sure what happened but even Martin got a birthday card out of the made basket even though I had bought a new stamp to make his card with.

Anyway here is my card for this weeks challenge

The twist is buttons and bows so my buttons are from a sizzlits buttons die which I have cut out in patterned papers and then glazed with glossy accents and the bow is from  the paper bows pad which matches the Kitsch papers from Craftwork Cards.
Here's a close up

So the main image is from Lili of the Valley, papers and base card are from Craftwork cards, the swirl die is Memory box and the blue card is another piece used up from the A4 box.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to leave

Sweet sketch Wednesday 2 challenge

Here I am last minute again, I really don't know where the weeks are going at the moment, just hope when the holidays come around they don't fly by at the same rate.

So this is the sketch

and this is my card

I have used papers from The Paradise collection from Craftwork Cards, I chose to cut down the birdcage paper to supply my focal image and then cut round the fuchsias on the creamy coloured paper to overlap it.
Base card is also Craftwork Cards and ric rac is from the jar.
Hope you like it

Using up the older stuff

Here is my card for this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 Challenge

and here is the sketch we had to follow

I made a 148mm square card blank from a piece of blue card then matted white card onto it for a border. The stripy paper, embossed white card and sentiment came from Craftwork Cards a few years ago and I have had the ribbon bow for a while too.
The image is Sarah Kay decoupage mounted onto a doily.

All in all a card made from items I have had for a couple of years at least.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to take the time to leave

Purple twist at SSW2

It's been a lovely weekend here  in Yorkshire and Martins rugby team won as well so that was a bonus.

It's last week of the month time over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 so as well as this great sketch

there is a twist which is purple.

So here is my card

The main image is a Woodware stamp called Delicate Daisies which I have coloured with copics and then paper pieced the main blooms but not stuck all the petals down.

The papers are a mix of  Crate Paper and Basic Grey which I have overstamped  with Judikins Mince Flourish. The ribbon slide came from Paper Cellar a while ago and the ribbon is from the purple jar which has since had a tidy. Pearls are from Hobby House and I have embellished the image with Perfect Pearls.

Hope you like it and thank you so much for visiting
