Ladies Day at Allsorts

I was very surprised and pleased to be chosen in the top 5 at Allsorts last week. Thank you for choosing me, it made for a lovely Friday as I actually managed to get out of work almost on time as well.
The challenge this week at Allsorts Challenge blog is Ladies Day and here is my entry

It is a 7x7 card from Samuel Taylors and the papers are Bazzill Two Scoops, the cerise card came from Craftwork Cards in the dim and distant and I've had the glass bead embellishment thingys (whose real name escapes me) since last time they were in fashion. The flowers and swirl are Spellbinders dies and the main image is a decoupage sheet from the fabulous fashion CD Rom from Katy Sue. I think that this is one of my favourite sets on the CD, maybe because of the bright colours .
I think that has covered all the bits, oh no forgot the ribbon which came from the jar on the shelf but originally from a monthly ribbon kit I think, oh and the lace is from Lovely Tapes.

Thank you for visiting and for another great challenge.

Kingfisher

I am ashamed to say that I have had this stamp set for 18 months and this is the first time I have inked it, but the latest challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and more gave me the perfect opportunity. I saw a kingfisher by the river on my way to work a few months ago, a quick flash though and it was gone.

I've used the sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 another great one from Sally Dube.

So the stamp is from Stamps Away from the Pilkington Lane collection, I coloured it with Copics and then used a Wink of Stella over it to add some iridescence to the feathers, which you can make out on the close up below.

The papers are My Minds Eye on the bright side, twine is American crafts and the brads, button and coloured cardstock is from my stash. The base card is Craftwork Cards 148mm x 148mm.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to take the time to leave.

Dusting off the brads

The challenge over at Allsorts this week is to use brads so I thought that I would share this card with you.

Papers are Basic Grey Oh Baby Girl, image and sentiment are Lili of the Valley, card is American Crafts, Scalloped and plain circles are Spellbinders dies, ribbon is from the jar and the flower brads are from the brad box, I can't remember where they came from I have had them so long.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to take the time to leave.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday Sketch 6

Well I was very excited when I came on to Blogger to do this post to see that I had won top 3 at Sketch and Stash, thank you for choosing me.

Anyway onto the reason for this post which is to show my card for this weeks sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 . I bet that you wouldn't guess that I like a sketch challenge, I am even making a card from the sketch I missed last week, now that the craft room has had a clean and tidy and a little rearrange I can now see to think if you know what I mean. So after all that waffling here is my card

Pink and blue card is American Crafts, ribbon is from the jar, base card is Craftwork Cards and evrything else is Lili of the Valley.
The hexagon die is Spellbinders as is the circle, scalloped circle is Stampin Up and the balloons are an Xcut punch.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to take the time to leave.

A productive evening

Caz came round to scrap the other night, it's so long since I scrapped I think I have forgotten how but I came across this photo of my late neighbour and thought I would do a layout to add to my 8x8 A-Z people I know album and here it is

I used some Bo Bunny papers, stickers and journalling tags from The Country Garden collection, the butterfly is a Flora Doodles which I have had for ages and finally got around to opening the packet. Lace is from one of the ribbon jars and the corduroy brad has been in my stash for years.

I was on a roll then so made this card with the scraps

Everything is pretty much as above apart from the Kraft card and DL base card from Craftwork Cards, sentiment from Woodware and the jewels are Hobby House.

To finish I made this 3x3 card from the scraps and the scrap box

The main piece is embossed with my favourite sizzix embossing folder which came with the machine and the kraft card is embossed with a cuttlebug slim folder. The flowers have been punched with an EK Success daisy punch and I have put Craftwork Cards Candi in the centres. I went round the edges with a pen but it's not the neatest.

Thank you for visiting xx

I like driving in my car .........

...... it's not quite a Jaguar.

I had a card to make for a friend of mine who has always liked a variety of cars so thought I would use this LOTV image, then I dug out some old Ooh La La papers from Craftwork Cards because I thought the map image would go even though I suspect that it is the Paris Metro rather than the road network. The papers are matted onto American Crafts cardstock and I wrapped some washi tape around the smaller panels. The car and arrows are Studio Calico wood veneers coloured with Copics. The sentiment is a Little Claire stamp.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Sketch and Stash  the papers and the washi tape are the neglected items I have used this time.
Lili of the Valley Monthly Challenge Song is I like driving in my car - Madness
Crafty Cardmakers and more  the theme this time around is this is a mans world

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 - with a twist

It's the last challenge of the month of January over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday so we can choose any of the previous sketches and the twist this month is to use paper piecing. I made one card and forgot about the paper piecing so then had to make another.

So here is the sketch I chose

and here is my card

I was looking through my stamps for an image suitable for the paper piecing and came across Daisy, a Sugar Nellie image by the artist Elisabeth Bell. I coloured her in with copics and paper pieced her clothes using Basic Grey Oh Baby Girl papers, I would imagine they are long retired by now. I also used the papers on the main card matted onto Bazzill card. The flowers are Prima and the brads and pearls are from the Hobby House.

I think from the colours I have used I must be subconsciously hoping for Spring, although the snowdrops are out in  the garden.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to leave
