Hippo wishes

For this weeks challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 we are sponsored by Meljens Designs and we have a blast from the past sketch to play with.

I couldn't resist this sweet hippo image, especially as only a couple of days before it popped into my inbox I had been saying to one of my friends that you didn't see many hippo images around.

So I used a scalloped card from Craftwork Cards for my base,
The pink and green cards are from American Crafts Spring selection.
The papers are Lili of the Valley/Nitwits Perfect Pair, I decided to use them to paper piece the hippo but the yellow bird is done with One Birdie Lane Papers. The sentiment is also Lili of the Valley and I suspect that the crochet trim was picked up on a visit to their shop too.
The flower is by Prima, it has been on the shelf for too long.

Thank you for visiting and I do hope that you might join in this week with us.

SSW2 48 DigiStamp Boutique

It's time for another new sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and this week we are sponsored by the fabulous DigiStamp Boutique

Here is Sallys fabulous sketch

I think that it would look great rotated so the flowers are in the left hand corner as well but I kept it as it was for my card as it suited the image I had chosen.

So here is my card

I used the image Alyssa relaxing and the sentiment came with it.
I coloured it with Copics and my papers are American Crafts My Girl.
The oval dies are spellbinders and the flowers are cut from Joycrafts dies.
The lovely (well I think it is) scroll shape card is from Craftwork Cards.

Thank you for visiting and do play along with us if you can.
There is lots more inspiration on the blog

Mothering Sunday

Today was Mothering Sunday so I thought that I would share my makes for my mother-in-law.

First a card made with an Accordian card and The Paradise Collection from Craftwork Cards

Then I made a decorative frame for her

The frame is a deep 8x8 frame from the range and all the papers are from Craftwork Cards Paper Floristry kit. The chipboard letters are from a huge Heidi Grace set which was a birthday present.
I have decorated one of the ms with stickles and the other has been stamped on with a solid word stamp.

Thank you for visiting and I hope that all the mums visiting from the UK had a lovely day

Puppy love

It's been a busy week including a visit from my nephew and his fiancee who came down from Scotland to discuss their wedding stationery. On Friday it was such a lovely day that we fitted in a trip to Skipton where we had a nice wander around the town and along the canal.

Anyway enough waffle and on to my card for this weeks challenge over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2. This week we are sponsored by Sami Stamps who are giving a prize of $12 worth of images and Sally has created another great sketch for us to play with.

I chose the Puppy Balloon image to play with, coloured it with Promarkers and the balloon has been filled in with Stickles too

The stickles wasn't dry when I took my photo as I wanted to get it taken in the daylight so it looks really glossy on this picture - I suppose that's one way to make sure that the sparkle shows up.
Papers are Jillibean soup.

Thank you for visiting, I hope that you can find the time to play along with us this week.

Bugaboo at SSW2

So here we are already into March and I have completed my first month on the design team at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and that month just flew by.

Here is this weeks sketch

and to start March off we are sponsored by Bugaboo who have a great variety of images to choose from.

I chose Daffodil Can to play with., such a great image for Easter or Mothering Sunday which is only 10 days away here in the UK.

I have used papers from Lili of the Valley/Nitwits One Birdie Lane
Ribbon and green card are from the shelf
Scalloped circles and small circle are Spellbinders
Stitched circle is a Memory Box die and I just realised that I should really have cut the small one out from the same set.
The wellingtons have been cut with a Joanna Sheen die from shrink plastic then shrunk and then coloured with a Promarker.
I printed the image 3 times, coloured it with Promarkers and cut one layer of flowers and then a single flower and decoupaged them. I think this image shows the effect.

Thank you as always for visiting and for any comments you might leave, it is always uplifting after a busy day on the work front to come home to a lovely comment on here, and if you have the time please pop over to  Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and see what my lovely and very talented teamies have created, and maybe join in with us this week too.
