The Little Mermaid

It was Mothering Sunday yesterday so we had my 91 year old mum-in-law and my brother-in-law over for lunch. Once they had gone it was time to play and this is what I came up with. (Sorry it looks a bit out of focus)

I've used this sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 this week

but I have rotated it 180 degrees.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 has a twist of using mermaids or fairies on your cards this week so I have used the Mermaid 2 stamp from Lili of the Valley and coloured it with my copics, the papers are also from Lili of the Valley.
Allsorts challenge blog have challenged us to Use those dies this week, so I have used Spelbinders Lacey Circles and Standard Circles and then the shell is a Sizzix die which has been resident in the craft room for about 12 years.
I have finished off with a pearl and with some dew drops as they seemed to match in with the water theme.
The lilac card is American Crafts and the base card is Craftwork Cards oh and the ribbon is American Crafts too.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to take the time to leave.

One for the boys

Allsorts challenge blog are challenging us to make cards for the "guys in your lives" this week.

I have quite a few male birthdays coming up and not many male cards in the made box so this has started me off.

I had planned to use this Hunkydory decoupage for a colleagues card so thought I would start with this as it was in my head.

I made a stepper card from a 5 x 7 card blank, added some Lili of the Valley papers, a bit of mirri card and some Card Candi from Craftwork Cards and there it was done although it's taken a couple of days to blog it because blogger didn't want to play at loading pictures for the last couple of evenings.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2/10

It's another great sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 this week so I was determined to have a play and was very easily inspired by it and I am sure I will be using it again.

Here's the sketch

and here's my card

Everything used is from Craftwork Cards, the papers dress and bow are from the Kitsch collection and the red, white and blue card was supplied by them to go with some Anglomania papers a few years ago and matched perfectly. Dies are all Spellbinders.

Thank you as always for taking time to visit and for any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Like buses

So you don't blog for 2 weeks and then 2 posts in one night.

I had a card that fitted last weeks challenge on the Allsorts blog but never got a roundtuit in so far as posting it was concerned. I have one that fits the Pretty in Pink brief this week and so I am posting it no while I am in the zone.

My great niece loves all things pink so after a recent visit to the Lili of the Valley shop I was flicking through the new James and Jenny Bear art pad I had bought, saw this pretty pink image and decided I would make  her card then even though her birthday isn't until April.

So you already know where the image is from and the papers are Lili of the Valley too from the Perfect Pair pad. Kraft card, base card and sentiment are all Craftwork Cards and the ribbon came from Stampin' Up.
I punched the flowers out with my EK Success paper shapers punches and popped Hobby House pearls in the centres.

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 09

It's been a couple of weeks since I had a chance to do any challenges, I had the best of intentions but time just got away from me. Anyway I came up the stairs to the craft room tonight determined to have a play with the latest Sweet Sketch Wednesday challenge .

Here is the sketch

and here is my card

The base card is a 7x7 inch from Samuel Taylors, green cardstock and twine are American Crafts, the patterned papers are from the Echo Park Summer Days collection, I love the bright zingy colours in this set and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards in the dim and distant past, well maybe 7 or 8 years old lol!
I bought the decoupage image from the Katy Sue Designs stand at the Great Northern Papercrafts Extravaganza in Harrogate yesterday. We had a great day out, bought lots of lovely new stash and came away inspired, such a shame that work gets in the way but something has to fund the crafting.

Thank you so much for visiting and wading through the waffle and for any comments which you are kind enough to leave, they always mean a lot to me

New stash

It's the last challenge of the month again at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 (how did that come around so quickly) so we can use any sketch and then there is a twist which this month is monochromatic. Having had a lovely spend at the Lili of the Valley shop yesterday it would have been rude not to have used something new and this is the result.

I used sketch number 3, I think it is one of my favourites but I flipped it so the bow is on  the right hand side.
This 'Skipping' stamp seems to have passed me by on previous trips over to Farsley and I found it difficult to resist when I saw it yesterday, I think it reminds me of my childhood, skipping in the street was a popular past-time foe my friend and I.
I have coloured the image with Copics and then used papers from the Shabby Shack pad, the sentiment is from the Art Pad and again coloured with Copics to match the image and papers.
Ribbon and brads are from my stash and the blue card is from American Crafts Spring collection.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you are kind enough to leave

Old Stash

Here's my entry for Sketch and Stash Challenge 133 using sketch number 29.
Everything on here is probably old and neglected stash apart from the Copics and Wink of Stella which I used to colour it in with.
The image and sentiment are from the Penny Black transparent set Bubbly, paper is Scenic Route, flowers are Prima, the ribbon (blink and you will miss it) is Stampin Up.
Other items are from stash.

Thank you for your visit
